But Not If Your Serious About Playing Serious Competition And Saving Money Too
Summer baseball at this level is changing in our area. High school coach’s in the SW PA area are having their teams play together during the summer to continue building their respective programs. The quality of talent and play in both leagues has become comparable to the WPIAL regular season playing mainly 3A 4A 5A 6A schools. This is a great opportunity to gain additional competitive game reps at an affordable price! Practices are Always Optional!
For the first time since 2014 we will try and enter a team into the Palomino World Series East Zone Qualifier in Struthers, OH. July 16th-18th. This would be based on player interest and talent level of available players. This may include some additional tournament play during the regular season for preparation. It will be discussed at meetings and with coach/parents early in the season.
Ages 15-16 play in the Chartiers Valley Colt League with 12-14 teams, and 14-16 games.
Ages 17-18 will play in the WPSBL (Western PA Summer Baseball League) that will have a JV
& V divisions w/10-12 teams per division, and 12-14 games.
The Colt league tentatively begins May 22nd and end July 15th with playoffs to follow.
The High School League tentatively begins June 5th ending July 15th with playoffs to follow.
Notable teams in the Colt League: USC, Mt Lebanon, W. Allegheny, Peters Twp., Keystone Oaks, Moon, Bethel Park, W Mifflin
Notable teams in the (WPSBL) High School League: USC, Mt Lebanon, Seneca Valley, Mars, Pine Richland, Avonworth
Both Colt & (WPSBL)High School registrations close March 31st - The season fee is $185
(Pays for league entry fee, insurance, Baseballs, 1-Umpire fee per game, and a flex-fit hat)
If you already have a game jersey from last season no need to order, if not the cost is $15
This year WYB is adding a $50 fee for late registrations starting April 1st
The late fee is to encourage families to register early to avoid expedited shipping charges for late
uniform orders and to have fields reserved as early as possible.

Games are scheduled for a home n home series on a Mon – Wed to accommodate local weekend travel programs.
Its probable that the first couple of games may need to be played on a weekend due to High School Playoffs.
Each team has their own field and will require some local travel.
Our Teams play at Washington Park and also have the opportunity to play at Wild Things Stadium.
The High School League Is Not a Beginner League!!
The Colt League is a very competitive league as well!!
It’s for players trying to make their High School Team!!
